Marilyn is licensed to officiate weddings in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Marilyn will help you create a wedding ritual that is personal and reflects you as a couple.
The ceremony is designed with you and for you, to reflect the vision and purpose of your marriage.

$400 includes:

• Two meetings
  1. To plan your wedding
  2. To get to know you as a
  ....couple. We will discuss:
  • How you met
  • What you love about each other
  • Your family of origin
  • How you resolve conflict
• A rehearsal
• The wedding

Elements of a Wedding

I suggest that couples purchase the book "Weddings From The Heart" by Daphne Rose Kingma click this to order.

This book has seven ceremonies and brides often pick from several different ceremonies. It includes elements of a ceremony.

Use all or some of these elements:

• Prelude
• Processional
• Welcome/ Convocation/ Invocation (We are gathered here to join in marriage...)
• Readings
• Music
• The Message (I like to make it personal and meaningful.)
• Expression of Intent (Are you ready to be married: ask each one, "Do you choose to make the promises of marriage?" I Do, or ask both, We Do.)
• Vows
• Blessing (Who has the rings?)
• Exchange of Rings
• Pronouncement of Marriage
• The Kiss
• Benediction
• Introduction of the Couple
• Recessional
  

Other elements that are used:

• Unity candle
• Sharing from the parents
• Sharing from the friends
• Couple give the parents a gift/ rose
• Community vows (promises from the community to support the couple in their marriage.)
• Promises of the couple to their children

Marriage Preparation & Enrichment

Prepare & Enrich Marriage Program

Prepare and Enrich is a program to help couples prepare for marriage or enrich their marriage or committed relationship.

$400 includes:

• 1 hour to take the inventory to identify strength and growth areas in your relationship
• Scoring the inventory
• Four feedback sessions...you will:
  1. Learn communication skills
  2. Learn skills to resolve conflict
  3. Create a spending plan
  4. Set personal couple and family goals

Additional Sessions $85 per hour:

Partners In Life

An 8 week program which:

• Clarifies your values and life purpose individually and together
• Creates your relationship vision
• Defines your requirements, needs and wants in a relationship
• Creates your relationship plan (those areas that need attention to create your vision)
• Works with a communication map to help improve your communication
